PD Dr. Bettina Heiderhoff

PD Dr. Bettina Heiderhoff has been a senior lecturer (Oberassistentin) at the University of Leipzig since 2003. Prior to this, starting from 1994, she was first a junior lecturer (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) and then, from 1998 onwards, a full lecturer (Wissenschaftliche Assistentin) at the university. From April 1 to September 30 2003, she substituted Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. (mult.) Reinhard Zimmermann FRSE FBA at the Chair for Private Law, Roman Law and Comparative Legal History at the University of Regensburg. Dr. Heiderhoff studied law in Trier and Regensburg. She spent two years abroad studying at Oxford Brookes University, Great Britain, and in Utrecht, The Netherlands, focusing on European community law. In 2003, Dr. Heiderhoff finished her professorial dissertation bearing the title: General principles of national and European consumer protection law – with particular emphasis on the scope of European interpretation (published in March 2004 at Sellier European Law Publishers). She is a member of the Secola (Society of European Contract Law) and the scientific society for international procedural law.
