Artical law

Art and law?

Between October 29th and November 1st, 2004, ELSA-Passau gives a seminar about artical law. Like the seminars in the past years, we have set up once again an interesting programme with speakers from around the world. A long weekend in a baroque lower bavarian city - what could be better? This will be added with a seminar about a worldwide important subject, wich is unfortunately not a subject in the education at the university.

Artical law - Is it real?

The answer on the question, if there is really something like artical law, is of course yes. But what does this expression mean exactly? The four lectures on  Saturday morning will try to answer this question. After lunch, it goes on with the research of provenices and the artical search. A visit at the Scharfrichterhaus in the evenig guarantees the necessary mixture of knowledge, culture and entertainment.

Insurance of art

The main topic on  Sunday morning will be the insurance of art and the work of an artical lawyer. In addition to that, Prof. Dr. Braun from the University of Passau presents an artical law case. The afternoon contents a guided tour through the city and the cathedral and as well some freetime, justin until Passau's uncountable pubs will be visited.

The World's largest organ

Finally, on  Monday there will be the Heiligmesse from Joseph Haydn on the world largest organ in the Hohen Dom St. Stephan zu Passau. A varied programme is offered. The  patrons of the seminar are Albert Zankl, the Mayor of the city of Passau and Prof. Dr. Werner Beulke, dean of the law facutly of the university of Passau. The   application form is available online of course.
